About Me

I am a self-taught artist from Thatcham, Berkshire, married with two of the most gorgeous black Labradors, Maisey and Ava. Having left school at 15 I went to work in an office, however after 2 years of sufferance in heels and skirts I decided that working with horses would be the perfect way of life for me. During my 20 years of working with many different kinds of equines, from riding school ponies to racehorses, I still have the bug for the racehorse and thoroughbreds, and my love for animals of all kinds is now shining through in my artwork.

As a young girl I used to watch and admire my father's paintings in a variety of different mediums, long after father had passed on and back to working in an office, I decided that I’ll have a go at this 'hobby', it looks easy! To this day I’m still learning and finding different techniques to use, by watching and learning from amazing artists such as Bonnie Snowdon, Mike Sibley and Aron Gadd. The hobby has now turned into a profession and I enjoy every minute of it.

I work principally from photographs, taken either on site or at the studio here in Thatcham. However, of course I’m willing to work from your own photographs, but they do have to be clear and from a good angle, ie, pictures of dogs noses close up are not an ideal reference. If you would like to commission a portrait of a loved animal, be it dog, equine, bird or anything else, please get in touch with me and I’d be more than happy to chat and discuss your requirements.
